Physical load

Static working posture

A static posture is when a part of the body assumes the same posture for more than 4 seconds. This is especially the case in professions in which you perform precision work, such as surgeons and welders. VDU work is also often static. A static working position impedes the blood circulation in the muscles and thus prevents the transport of nutrients and waste products. This can lead to back, shoulder and arm complaints. Employees who have to stand a lot have little blood circulation in the legs.

Dynamic working posture

A dynamic working posture can be harmful to health, especially when the same movement is performed too often in succession. This involves repetitive actions or short cyclical movements. This is the case, for example, with hairdressers, masons, painters and people who work with computers. The repetitive actions cause overload on the muscles and joints. In the long run, this leads to complaints of the back, neck or limbs.

A good condition is part of working safely and pleasantly. In general, most activities require less and less movement due to automation and the shift from a product to a service economy. It is therefore important that employer and employee pay attention to sufficient exercise in order to maintain their condition.

Safety clothing is a form of company clothing, it protects you against the danger around you. In many dangerous professions you are obliged to wear safety clothing. If you don't do this, you and the company you work for could have major problems with an inspection. It is a legal obligation to wear safety clothing in high-risk professions.
